The Spirit of Poverty
The
spirit of poverty binds people with a mindset of lack, bringing financial
curses and trapping them in a cycle of continual insufficiency from which they
cannot escape.
The key
to overcoming the spirit of poverty is first to close the spiritual breaches
and remove any accursed things.
After the
conquest of Ai, the Israelites began to obtain great spoils.
And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its cattle you shall take as booty for yourselves.” (Joshua 8:2 New King James Version)
Concept:
The Spirit of Poverty - The “spirit of poverty” is a dark
spiritual force in the spiritual realm specifically assigned to carry out the
curse of poverty. It often carries a generational trait, passing from one
generation to the next. However, in some cases, individuals may come under its
influence due to personal choices or deviations—such as involvement with
idolatry or heresies—which allow the enemy to steal from and dominate them. This
spirit does not only result in financial and material lack but also leads to a
deeper poverty in the soul and spiritual life. In fact, it can even oppress
those who are materially wealthy.
Its
manifestations include things like failed investments, being swindled, career
stagnation, or sudden unemployment in middle age. Often, the children of those
affected also cannot escape the same fate. You’ll notice a pattern: they
frequently live beyond their means, experience continual setbacks, and end up
trapped in debt cycles or living paycheck to paycheck—spending their entire
lives suffering under the oppression of poverty.
Causes of Poverty:
1.Not Knowing God and Worshiping Idols Leading to
Poverty:
For shame has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth—Their flocks and their herds, Their sons and their daughters. (Jeremiah 3:24 NKJV)
Therefore
I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish; For they do not know the way
of the Lord, the judgment of their God. (Jeremiah 5:4 NKJV)
2.Fail to Tithe:
“Will a
man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed
You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed
Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open
for you the windows of heaven And pour out for
you such blessing That there will not be
room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:8-12)
3. Stingy, not giving to the poor, result in poverty:
There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. (Proverbs 11:24)
He who
gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many
curses. (Proverbs 28:27)
He who
has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has
given. (Proverbs 19:17)
Therefore, to
him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
(James 4:17)
4. Laziness, love of sleep, and indulgence in drinking
and gluttony lead to poverty.
He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. (Proverbs 10:4)
Do not
love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you
will be satisfied with bread. (Proverbs 20:13)
For the
drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe a
man with rags. (Proverbs 23:21)
Break and cut off:
In the name of Jesus Christ, I come before You on behalf of my family and ancestors to confess and repent for the following sins:
- We have committed
sins related to money in ways that are not pleasing to God: engaging in
money laundering, running underground banks, charging usury, making false
promises for profit, committing fraud, stealing, robbing others of their
possessions, engaging in corruption and bribery, using violence to collect
debts, committing sexual immorality in exchange for money (Proverbs 5:10),
selling Christian artifacts for profit, and exploiting the popularity of
spiritual tours to Israel for financial gain under the guise of
spirituality.
- Inappropriate use
of money in daily life, such as soliciting prostitutes and gambling.
- Failure to fulfill
the obligation of tithing: Lord, we ask You to break the spiritual
devouring caused by our failure to tithe—where spiritual locusts have
consumed our family’s finances. Forgive us for not serving You with joy
and gladness when we were blessed with abundance (Deuteronomy 28:47).
- Worshiping false
gods.
- Loving money and
serving Mammon (1 Timothy 6:10): pursuing profit above all, trusting in
wealth and one’s own efforts more than in God, being materialistic, and
holding to a money-first worldview.
- Offering money to
false gods: investing in or building temples or religious institutions of
other faiths, or establishing ministries and organizations that serve
other gods.
- Selling religious
items related to false gods, or practicing witchcraft and sorcery to make
money.
- The sin of selling
one’s soul to false gods or the enemy in exchange for wealth.
- Lacking compassion
for others: greed, stinginess, indifference toward the poor, oppression of
the weak and needy, taking advantage of others for personal gain, being
petty or miserly, cutting corners in work, withholding fair wages (James
5:4), and refusing to forgive others’ debts (Matthew 6:12).
- Earning
unrighteous wealth: accepting bribes or ill-gotten gain through abuse of
one’s position, engaging in drug trafficking, human trafficking, organ
trade, giving false testimony to obtain unjust profit, and similar acts.
- Covenants and vows
made with poverty: making agreements with poverty through choosing a life
of begging, or vowing (or desiring) to become a monk, nun, or Taoist
priest as a commitment to a life of lack.
- Various financial
curses suffered: curses from witchcraft, curses from the shedding of
innocent blood resulting in a life of wandering, bankruptcy, destruction,
accepting cursed money, premature death, untimely or tragic death, the
curse of not being able to enjoy the fruit of one’s labor, curses from
dishonoring one’s parents (Exodus 20:12; Ephesians 6:2), and curses from
coveting others’ possessions (Exodus 20:17), among others.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that all these curses are now null and void—they can no longer affect me or my descendants. In the name of Jesus Christ, I cancel every work of the spirits of curse. I have been set free from the curse and have entered into God's blessing.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind and command all evil spirits connected to these curses to leave me now and go to the place where the Lord Jesus commands you to go. You are not allowed to return, nor to disturb or harm anyone ever again.
Abba
Father, I ask You to send Your angels to help me and accomplish all that I have
prayed for. Thank You, Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Declaration of Blessing Prayer:
I command
and declare—no longer shall the wealth of the wicked leave us in lack or
despair; now we shall walk in freedom! The powers that have gripped the
abundance rightfully belonging to us must now fall into misery and torment
until they release all that is ours.
We command—Satan,
according to Job 20:15–18, you must vomit up what you have swallowed! Let go!
Release it now! Let the abundance that belongs to us be loosed from your hands! (Psalm
66:12; Zechariah 2:8; Job 20:15–18)
I declare in the name of Jesus Christ:
Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty,The Lord mighty in battle.9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts,He is the King of glory. (Psalm 24:7-10)
Jehovah Jireh, our God of provision, we ask You to loose the armor of kings and, in the name of Jesus, command the city gates to be opened. Go before us and make the crooked places straight; you will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. You will give us the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, In the name of Jesus, we declare that the anointing of Cyrus will flow into our lives without hindrance and without reservation. (Isaiah 45:1–3; Isaiah 60:10–17; Philippians 4:19)
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command and release: from the prophetic significance of Tarshish, let gold and silver be released; and from the prophetic significance of the Queen of Sheba, let treasures, resources, and beautiful goods be brought forth, prepared for the children of the King of kings. I declare and command that I shall drink the milk of the Gentiles, and milk the breast of kings. (Isaiah 60:16)
When the abundance of the sea is turned toward me, I will surely enlarge and expand. (Isaiah 60:5)
Foreigners shall build my walls, and their kings shall minister to me. (Isaiah 60:10; Isaiah 60:1–22; Job 27:16–17)
I declare that God is bringing me into a land of abundance. I declare that I shall dwell in the prophetic land of Goshen. As I walk in God's will, I will become His ambassador on earth. I declare that I will be mightily used in God's Kingdom. As a spokesperson for God, I carry diplomatic and royal authority, power, honor, and glory—all of these are upon me. God’s grace, mercy, and the Most Holy Word shall be my shield and protection.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that every revelation I receive is fresh, alive, timely, effective, and forward-looking. The information I share, the books I write, and the innovations I develop are always full of life and meet the needs of others.
In the name of Jesus, I declare that the season of the wilderness has come to an end. I will no longer go in circles—I now move forward boldly into the promised land, a land flowing with milk and honey. I will begin to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth. Through the information I release, my testimonies, my creative works, and my ministry, God will begin to bless the nations of the world.
Heavenly Father, You have given us a great mission to fulfill. We contend for freedom in the area of wealth, and we fight for every inheritance that rightfully belongs to us. Before the foundation of the world, You prepared all that pertains to our lives, our ministries, and our callings—we will not deny or reject any of it. We will not, and we absolutely refuse to, accept any substitutes. For this is the portion You have measured out for us. We call forth from the east, the west, the south, and the north—provision must come. We command and declare that all the resources needed to fulfill Your original intent and plan for us must come quickly, without delay. (2 Peter 1:3)
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare: our spiritual sensitivity will make it impossible for us to miss the nearness of God. Therefore, the Lord is my Shepherd—He leads me. As a result, I will not, and cannot, fail to recognize every inheritance that legally belongs to me. I will recognize the portion God has measured for me and hold fast to it.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare: wisdom is my counselor, the Holy Spirit is my Helper, and Jesus Christ is my Advocate. God, the Most High, is my only Judge—He has already rendered His verdict. Therefore, peace is my presiding officer, righteousness is my executor, salvation has become my walls, and my gates are praise. (Genesis 47:27; Isaiah 60:17–18) Today, I declare this blessing.
I declare
and command—today is the day the Lord has made, and every good and perfect gift
comes from Him. God opens the storehouses of heaven for me, pouring blessings
into my lap—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. May this beautiful
day bring forth heavenly opportunities; may these opportunities meet with
divine strategies. May they be filled with joyful surprises, supernatural
breakthroughs, and miracles. May this wonderful day mark the beginning of many
glorious days to come. Let this moment be my appointed moment—an end to sorrow,
oppression, and disappointment.
Today is a prosperous new beginning. Every debt shall be repaid, every sickness shall be healed, and all heaviness and depression shall flee and never return. May I forever dwell under the open gates of heaven, receiving abundance and fruitfulness from above.
In the name of the Lord, I declare that God will give me divine strategies and grant me the ability to recognize what I am called to do and how to do it. I declare that I inherit the portion God has measured for my ancestors across generations—my inheritance is generational. The next generation will know the works I have done.I declare blessings: I will live in an environment of abundance and health. God blesses the work of my hands and causes it to prosper. Everything I handle becomes a channel through which blessings are activated. My life will always reflect the radiance of God's glory and His character.
My life shall be blessed and filled with goodness. May joy, peace, and prosperity be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Let friendship, favor, abundance, influence, happiness, beauty, purpose, direction, and a life of fullness follow me continually. God will bless me with favor in the sight of both God and people, and I will receive unconditional love. May my presence be accepted, honored, and exalted. God grants me sincere and faithful relationships, friendships, alliances, partnerships, and divine helpers.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that the products I create will become well-known and trusted brands, loved and favored by many. God will open up channels for marketing—online platforms, physical outlets, group-buying networks—and cause expansion to the left and to the right. In the name of Jesus, I declare: My products are of top quality, produced smoothly, leading the industry in sales, with abundant profits. Consumers will love them, and the brand will earn a strong reputation. Our team will operate in unity. Our strategies are supernatural, and our operations are sustainable, becoming a blessing to both people and the land.
My creations, inventions, products, and the services I offer will be in great demand in this world—and I will supply abundantly. My goals will be fulfilled. God gives me wisdom so that lack and struggle will no longer trouble me. My labor will bear much fruit, and God blesses me with multiple streams of income. I move within these streams by the anointing, gaining skill, insight, and wisdom for business and enterprise.
May times of economic crisis become seasons of favor for me. Even when the land is barren, I will reap a hundredfold. The anointing for abundant wealth is transferred into my hands, making me a faithful steward and a channel of blessing for the Kingdom of God.
In the name of the Lord, bless my income to exceed my expenses. I am a channel of blessing—full of grace and willing to give generously. My income will be more than enough to give beyond the tithe to God’s house, advancing His Kingdom. I am willing to give to support orphans, widows, the homeless, the poor, and the vulnerable. May God's divine increase and abundance come upon me. My network of relationships and my net worth will grow significantly. I will have abundant resources, and every help I need will come at the right time.
My heart dwells in Eden, and I live under the protection of Goshen. God has appointed angels to watch over me, granting me peace as I enter the promised land. My head will never lack fresh anointing oil. My mouth will continually offer praise. My hands will never lack creativity. My mind will never lack wise and innovative thoughts, nor inventions that bless humanity. My spirit is richly filled with the divine presence of God.
In the name of the Lord Jesus, I declare: The Lord will answer us in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob will lift up our whole household. The Lord our God will send us help from His sanctuary and strengthen us out of Zion. He will remember all our offerings and accept our burnt sacrifices. The Lord will grant us the desires of our hearts and fulfill all our plans. We will shout for joy over His salvation and lift up banners in the name of our God.
The Lord will fulfill all that we ask for! Now we know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer us from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are bowed down and fallen, but we—our whole household— we have risen and stand upright. When our household calls upon the Lord, He will surely answer us! (Psalm 20:1–9) Amen!
In Jesus name I declare: God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah 2 That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 4 Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Selah 5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6 Then the earth shall [b]yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us,
And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. (Psalm 67:1-7)
