Day 21 - Pray to Break the Spirit of Anger

A contentious and angry spirit

This evil spirit can cause a quarrel or a storm to suddenly break out in a peaceful situation, or cause a quiet child to suddenly start quarreling for no reason. If it is inside a person, it will make the person irritable and angry, like a time bomb that can explode at any time. This evil spirit can cause family discord. It must be bound and commanded to leave in the name of the Lord, to go to where Jesus tells it to go, and never to come back, and not to stir up trouble in the home again.

Madon: A city in Canaan. Based on the ambiguity of the manuscripts, most scholars accept that Madon is Meron (where the alliance camped). Current scholars generally tend to believe that Meron is the site of Carnechtim, about five miles west of Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee.

Concept:

The spirit of quarreling and wrath is a dark force that has a familial trait, passed down from generation to generation, but it can also be caused by personal factors or behavioral deviations that lead to quarrels and arguments that result in violent and uncontrolled emotions or behavioral anger.

The manifestations are: pessimism, despair, depression, disappointment, anxiety, fear, grievances in life, which puts a lot of pressure on people around him and makes him suffer a lot. He is particularly good at arguing and competing, which leads to endless quarrels. Severe anger will lead to beating, scolding, insulting, controlling, threatening, cursing, etc.

Causes:

1. The external environment, gods, or people do not meet your needs according to your own ideas.

Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?” (Exodus 17:1-2)

Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. (Genesis 4:4-5)

2. You or your loved ones are treated unfairly

And the words of Esau her older son were told to Rebekah. So she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, “Surely your brother Esau comforts himself concerning you by intending to kill you. 43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice: arise, flee to my brother Laban in Haran. 44 And stay with him a few days, until your brother’s fury turns away, (Genesis 27:42-44)

36 Then Jacob was angry and rebuked Laban, and Jacob answered and said to Laban: “What is my [a]trespass? What is my sin, that you have so hotly pursued me? 37 Although you have searched all my things, what part of your household things have you found? Set it here before my brethren and your brethren, that they may judge between us both! (Genesis 31:36-37)

5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter. Now his sons were with his livestock in the field; so Jacob held[a] his peace until they came. 6 Then Hamor the father of Shechem went out to Jacob to speak with him. 7 And the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it; and the men were grieved and very angry, because he had done a disgraceful thing in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter, a thing which ought not to be done. (Genesis 34:5-7)

3. Openly challenge and overthrow authority figures

9 The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram, representatives of the congregation, who contended against Moses and Aaron in the company of Korah, when they contended against the Lord; 10 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign. (Numbers 26:9-10)

4. Distorted, self-centered speculation and interpretation

28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”29 And David said, “What have I done now? Is[a] there not a cause?”(1 Samuel 17:28-29)

27 So not only is this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and [a]her magnificence destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship.”28 Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” 29 So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions.(Acts 19:27-29)

5. The sinful nature of jealousy, competition, pride, and contempt for others

7 So the women sang as they danced, and said:
“Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.”8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” 9 So Saul [a]eyed David from that day forward.(1 Samuel 18:7-9)

6 Now it was so, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner was strengthening his hold on the house of Saul.7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. So Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”8 Then Abner became very angry at the words of Ishbosheth, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show loyalty to the house of Saul your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman? (2 Samuel 3:6-8)

15 And he made devices in Jerusalem, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped till he became strong.16 But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 17 So Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him were eighty priests of the Lord—valiant men. 18 And they withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! You shall have no honor from the Lord God.”19 Then Uzziah became furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the incense altar. (2 Chronicles 26:15-19)

But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. (Nehemiah 4:1)

Behavioral Breakdown: Arguing and the Spirit of Anger

In the name of Jesus Christ, for what we have done:

1. We get angry when external circumstances, gods, or people fail to satisfy our needs as we wish. For example, if something is delayed longer than we expected, or we don’t get what we want, or we don’t get the praise or reward we thought we would after working hard.

2. When you or your loved ones are treated unfairly, you are unwilling to entrust your hopes to God, and do not believe that God will judge righteously. You take action or retaliate to pursue fairness, or you are filled with bitterness and complaints in your heart, unable to get out of it for a long time, and are snared by the enemy.

3. For their own selfish desires or because they believed slander, they openly challenged and overthrew those in power, causing chaos and undermining the credibility of those in power, leading to all kinds of disunity.

4. Causing quarrels and outbursts due to distorted and self-centered speculation and interpretation of people, events and situations.

5. React negatively to people and things because of inner jealousy, competitiveness, pride, and contempt for others; use temper tantrums, hitting, scolding, hurting, and threatening as means to indulge one’s emotions in order to control others.

In the name of Jesus Christ, pull out the quarrelsome spirit of Madon from my life, trample on its neck, and nail it completely to the cross, just as Joshua hung the kings of Canaan on trees. Close all spiritual channels that are not in line with God's will, and do not allow them to stir up trouble again, so that my heart can be calm and stable.

In the name of Jesus, take up the sword of the Holy Spirit to cut off and break the spirit of self-focus. We often only look at ourselves. Lord, we also confess and repent to you for fixing our eyes on the environment, thinking that our own needs are the most important, and getting angry at the slightest dissatisfaction, like a time bomb that can explode at any time, not caring about what others think; when God's will is different from what we think, we blame others, complain bitterly, and lose our temper, but forget that fearing God is our duty; all kinds of competition and narrow-minded sins, living in jealousy and pride, because there is no goodness in my flesh.
In the name of Jesus, I declare that the distorted spirit has completely left my life. My interpretation of people and things is completely in line with God’s will. I have the truth, wisdom, grace and mercy from God. There is no loophole in my life for the spirit of contention to enter. God is watching over us and there is peace in all four directions.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that I will completely drive out and remove the spirit of nitpicking, criticism, judgment, and accusation, protect my mind, thoughts, eyes, ears, mouth, and tongue, and let my soul completely belong to Jesus Christ. Repent for every time I get angry, ask God to forgive the sins committed because of anger, stay away from the control of anger, do not slander, do not quarrel, always be peaceful, show gentleness to everyone; pursue unity and peace, love one another, have the heart of Christ, and be full of the stature of a son; look at those who owe me with love and mercy, no longer pursue justice for myself but believe in God, and pray for them.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I renounce, cut off, and break the emotions of anger, and all words, behaviors, and thoughts related to hitting, swearing, insulting, controlling, threatening, and cursing others; in the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce, cut off, and break the angry curses and angry evil spirits from my family; in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I sever any agreements, vows, and connections with anger; in the name of Christ, angry spirit, I command you to leave me now and never come back, go to where the Lord Jesus wants you to go, and do not disturb or harm anyone. Abba Father, please send angels to help me and accomplish all the work I pray for. Thank you, Father, in the holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Declare Prayer of Blessing:

May God open our hearts and let us recognize the sin of anger. May You give repentance and the gift of forgiveness to every family member. When they sin again and come before You to seek, all the captives will be released, and the heavy yoke that oppresses them will be removed, and all the shackles of sin and evil spirits will be unlocked. In the name of Jesus Christ, we declare that all sins related to anger are forgiven, because it is so easy for us to fall into anger.

May God heal the hurt caused to us by the anger of others. No matter how deep or painful the hurt is, God will completely bind up, heal, and erase all the painful memories, because He was wounded for our transgressions and crushed for our sins. Because of His punishment, we have peace; because of His stripes, we are healed. Redeem the good times lost due to hurt: childhood, ignorant adolescence, and ambitious years in the ivory tower. May God snatch them back from the hands of the enemy and repay them a hundredfold.

Pray for God to heal the harm caused to others by your anger: elders, spouses, children, brothers and sisters, friends, colleagues, whether physically or emotionally, ask God to completely heal them; ask the Lord to reach out and heal all people's anger-related diseases: lung disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc., all diseases caused by anger must be healed. Pray for God's healing spring to continue to flow and pour here, completely remove anger, and descend on every family member, so that anger will no longer control us, no longer control us, and keep anger away from our families.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we declare: We rely on the Holy Spirit, adorn ourselves with a gentle and quiet spirit, and maintain a gentle and humble character to face the conflicts, frictions, and rifts that arise in our interactions; we show good deeds in the gentleness of wisdom, overcome the natural tendencies and evil thoughts of man, and no longer treat the evil of others in a hostile or retaliatory manner, because we have nailed the flesh and its evil desires on the cross.

In the name of the Lord, I declare: The relationships that were once destroyed and captured by the spirit of quarreling will be redeemed, and my own life and the lives of those around me will be expanded. I will face and deal with various problems, opinions, misunderstandings, frictions, differences and even hostility more wisely, tear down and build up each other's lives, be humble and loving to each other, be patient, tolerant, and kind to each other, not seek my own benefit, do not count the evil of others, and pray more for their benefit.

In the name of the Lord, we declare: The finances and opportunities that were once destroyed and taken away by the spirit of quarreling must be redeemed. May God lead us to take them back one by one, just as He led Joshua to stand in the beautiful land of Canaan, and use them entirely to serve the kingdom of God, so that God's house will have food and an abundance of it. We will re-establish industry standards, plan industry prospects, and declare that the relevant industries belong completely to God and walk in the law of God's blessing.

In the name of the Lord, we declare: We receive complete healing and deliverance in the Holy Spirit, experience complete renewal and change, receive the peace and joy bestowed by the Lord Jesus Christ, receive the promised Holy Spirit and various spiritual gifts, are filled with the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, win more souls for the Lord, overcome the seven mountains, and become witnesses of God's glory in this corrupt, incomplete, and imperfect world.
